It’s the most wonderful time of the year… for going mental online and spending all your dosh on beauty gift sets! Whether you’re looking to treat yourself (I certainly wont judge) or to grab a few goodies for friends and family, I’ve picked out some of the best beauty buys to suit all budgets this Christmas.
Having discovered the genius that is hair powder a couple of years ago, I was recently reminded of its magical powers again when a friend’s jaw dropped as I sprinkled a little pot of dust over my fringe, making it come to life. “What on earth is that, and where can I get it?” she exclaimed. There are some pretty unusual products out there, and lots of new items hitting the shelves this season, so trust me and give them a go!
Christmas is coming and I for one am excited. I pined after the Benefit beauty advent calendar last year badly, but this year I was prepared and ready to avoid missing out and thanks to my lovely granny I bagged myself a gift that keeps on giving (throughout December!)
Charlotte and I had so much fun writing this feature for local lifestyle magazine, Cambridge Edition. We often trawl through the re-purposed trends from the catwalk feeling a dull sense of déjà vu, but for this one we got together around mine to write the copy together, which is something we haven’t done in ages – usually bouncing ideas between What’sApp and Googledocs. Of course it doubles as a great excuse for our dogs to have a play as well. Toby is fast approaching his first birthday and it’s so sweet to see their little friendship growing and developing. Two dogs who couldn’t be more different, sharing moments 🙂
As a child, I have fond (if not farther excitable) memories of chocolate advent calendars symbolising the “official” start of the festive season – a time when it’s totally acceptable to pester your family about your letter to Father Christmas, and singing carols (Mariah Carey) is the norm. Has much changed?
September may almost be over, but here’s a round-up of my favourite products from August!
