The Day’s Eyes: new beauty blog

image1

Starting this little blog three years ago has really fueled my beauty-product-addiction. The drawers of my kidney shaped dressing table are bulging, and my make-up techniques have improved ten fold, so I’ve decided to start a sister blog to Not the Nine to Five, called The Day’s Eyes which will feature a more regular flow of content including reviews, how to’s, and the latest launches. Please do pop on over, subscribe and say hello, it would be lovely to see you all there!

Tried & tested | Oskia

Oskia_review_.jpg

I have a problem. If you hadn’t already noticed I’m a huge beauty junkie. To me, this is kind of a great problem – I love nothing more than trying new products and make-up, but I’m particularly fussy when it comes to skincare. Because of my gregarious ways with lotions and potions it has to take a really great product to truly stand out to me and raise my (on point) brows. Introducing Oskia, the brand that’s got me super excited about skincare…

Face favourites | contour kits

Contour_kits.jpg

I’m starting to get a little excited about Christmas, and of course all of the social gatherings and festivities that come with it. Contouring was the trend of then year, and is oh so appropriate for your party look, so here are my top four options suitable for a range of budgets.

Makeup Revolution advent calendar | £20

Makeup_revolution_advent_calendar_2015.jpgI’m a sucker for any beauty related novelty, be it Bonus Time at Clinique and Lancôme, a bag of free goodies for spending over £60 at lookfantastic, or 3-4-2 in superdrug, I can’t seem to be able to help myself. So, when it comes to beauty advent calendars of course I’m all over that. I love surprises so being treated each day with a new make-up item couldn’t be more fitting. Last year I had the Benefit calendar and this season I’m loving cult beauty brand Makeup Revolutions festive offering, and it’s not too late to pick one up for yourself on offer too…

A lazy girls way to cleanse | Vichy Purete Thermale 3-in-1 Cleanser

Purete_thermale_3_in_1.jpg

When life gets crazy busy, working hours increase and all you want to do is eat pizza and face plant your bed, it can be hard to feel motivated to cleanse, tone and moisturise. I love my skincare regimen and the benefits to my complexion, but when I have a bad case of CBA (can’t be assed) I try to at least get the worst off before flopping into bed, and for me this is where cream cleansers really come in handy.

Review | Bare Minerals brush conditioning shampoo

Cleaning_makeup_brushes_.jpg

It’s no ones favourite job, but it’s gotta be done! Cleaning your make-up brushes keeps them germ-free and less likely to break you out, as well as making sure they’re doing the best job possible of even application, and is well worth doing as regularly as you can bear (ideally once a week). If you’ve invested in expensive brushes this is even more important to keep them in tip top condition and justify the cost.
