I heart makeup – Too Faced beauty bargain?

While Christmas shopping I stopped in at Superdrug for a browse of the beauty aisles and stumbled upon a new range; ‘I heart makeup’. Upon first glance it looked like possibly yet another tacky brand aimed at tweens, but what caught my eye was a total Too Faced look-a-like…

Committing to a full crouch in Superdrug (not such a small feat when you have awful knees and are laden with Christmas bags) I took a good look through the range. With a large stock of lipsticks, and glosses (in unusual flat packaging) and a couple of palettes – what intrigued me the most were the Blushing Hearts blocks. Available in six shades, including blushers and bronzers, I swear one of the blushers was exactly the same as my much-loved Too Faced Sweetheart Blush, which at £24 is a lot steeper than the I heart makeup version at just £4.99 a pop.

I picked the Goddess of Love Highlighternot try, which comes in cute packaging – just like Too Faced – and offered a highly pigmented baked finish. I found the application similar too, although if I had to pick holes, it would be that perhaps it’s not quite as soft and easy to blend as the former – but when saving almost £20, it’s worth a go!

The next item I picked up was one of lipsticks, in a nude shade called ‘Lips that won’t lie’. It comes in a vibrant pink and purple metallic casing, and has a quality feel. It cost me just £1.99 and the colour is slightly sheer but is easy to build up – so I will definitely be going back to try some more shades. I couldn’t find this one online, but they claim to have 24 colour choices in the Lip Geek range – there’s a similar nude shade here.

The last item I picked up to try was one of two Definition palettes, a contouring kit with 3 powders. I chose the ‘fair‘ kit over ‘medium’ which features a matte bronzer, a midtone pink blush, and a pale pink highlighter. All three powders were easily blendable and the highlighter was similar to the hearts block. It cost me just £4.99 which is a total bargain for what you get and I’m now tempted by their chocolate bronzers, and left wondering if they have the same
Incredible scent as the Too Faced ones do – be great to see any comments below from anyone that has tried these.
