Primark mini beauty-haul

There are few things more satisfying than discovering an absolute steal of a beauty bargain that’s also super effective, and with a keen eye – and a little patience – Primark is well worth a rummage for some beauty gold at a sterling price.

I’ve always found Primark great for basics like vests and T’s – but in recent years they’ve been growing their beauty range to include some brands I already know (including Palmers) but also some of their own I was less familiar with. Kind of like all-year-round stocking fillers, you can pick up anything from makeup brushes to Argan oil, from as little as 50p!

I picked up this ‘P.S I love… Egg Makeup Sponge’ for £1.50 after becoming curious about the beauty Blenders which bloggers are going crazy for but are retailing for around £20 (!!!) I’m yet to try it out, but it’s basically an egg shaped makeup sponge which promises to make it easy to smooth your foundation into every crevasse and crease seamlessly.

I then couldn’t resist buying this ‘Stippling Brush’ for £1.50. I’d bought the same one about 2 or 3 months ago on a whim, not thinking it could possibly be any good for that price – but have been so amazed and pleasantly surprised to find it’s now my second most-used brush. (first is a beautiful Body Shop Powder brush). This cheap little brush is perfect for adding contouring to your cheekbones with a matte Bronzer, or for a light kiss of colour from a powder blush. Now I have two I’m going to keep one for each so there’s no shade contamination!

My final purchase were a few pairs of their ‘Sultry Lashes’ for £1 I’ve been using these for a few years so like to keep stocked up. These lashes look quite natural and not dissimilar to Eyelure’s real hair range (mini ew!) and are synthetic, but not shiny or plasticy in appearance like I find some cheap lashes tend to be. I don’t however recommend using the glue they come with, but rather opt for Eyelure’s glue which I find totally reliable as well as gentle too. I’m not wearing the lashes in this shot – but wanted to show the subtle contouring I achieved with the new brush – I used a Tan Organics Bronzer and Too Faced blush here.
